SpendLens — Data Deletion
Effective: 2026-06-15
SpendLens stores your data only on your Mac. There is no account and no cloud copy, so you delete your data directly — nothing has to be requested from us. This supports GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure), CCPA deletion rights, and equivalent UAE PDPL rights.
What is stored, and where
All imported statements, transactions, categories, rules, notes, and import logs live in a local SQLite database on your Mac. You can see its exact location in Settings → Local data.
How to delete
In the app (recommended):
- Settings → Danger zone → Delete current profile data — removes one bank profile’s statements, transactions, accounts, and logs.
- Settings → Danger zone → Delete all SpendLens data — removes everything: statements, transactions, account labels, custom categories, and review state.
By removing the app:
Deleting the SpendLens database file (shown in Settings) and uninstalling the app removes all local data. Because the data is local, this is immediate and permanent — we cannot recover it for you.
Export first
Want a copy before deleting? Use Settings → Export to save your data as CSV/JSON. The Accountant export is also available for tax-prep records.
Purchase records
Your purchase and receipt are held by Polar (Merchant of Record) for legal/tax reasons even after you delete the app. For payment-record requests, contact Polar, or email us at info@stevinator.com and we’ll help.
