SpendLens — Privacy Policy

SpendLens is a macOS app published by Manookian LLC (UAE), trading as Stevinator (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: info@stevinator.com.

Summary

• SpendLens runs entirely on your Mac. Your bank statements and the data extracted from them never leave your device.
• We operate no servers for the app, run no analytics, and use no AI or cloud sync.
• The only personal data we ever touch is what you give our payment provider when you buy a license.
• We don’t sell your data and don’t use it for advertising.

Stored only on your Mac (never sent to us)

When you import a statement, SpendLens reads the file on your device and stores the results in a local SQLite database on your Mac. This can include account holder name, account numbers, and IBANs printed on your statements; transaction dates, descriptions, merchant names, amounts, balances, and currencies; your categories, tags, notes, rules, and review decisions; and import logs. None of this is transmitted to us or to any third party. You can see the database location, export it, or delete it at any time in Settings.

What we process when you buy

Payments are processed by Polar as Merchant of Record. When you purchase a license, Polar collects your billing details and provides us with order/subscription status and a license key. We do not receive or store your card details. We use your purchase email only to deliver your license, provide support, and meet legal/tax obligations.

What we do NOT collect

• No telemetry, usage tracking, or crash reporting that contains your financial data.
• No background sync, no cloud backup, no bank login or credentials.
• No AI processing of your transactions.

Third-party processors

• Polar — payments / Merchant of Record.
• Cloudflare — serves our website and app downloads.

These services are only involved in distributing and selling the app, never in processing your statements.

Retention

Statement data and all derived records live on your Mac until you delete them or uninstall the app. Purchase records are kept by Polar for the period required by law.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / UAE PDPL and similar)

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of the personal data we hold (essentially your purchase record). Email info@stevinator.com; we respond within 30 days. Because your statement data is local, you control it directly — see Data deletion.

Security

Your data’s security rests largely on your Mac. We recommend full-disk encryption (FileVault) and a strong account password. Website and download transfers use HTTPS.

Children

SpendLens is intended for adults 18+ and is not directed at children.

Changes

We’ll update this page and change the effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app where appropriate.
