SpendLens — Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of SpendLens, a macOS app by Manookian LLC (UAE), trading as Stevinator (“we”, “us”). By installing or using SpendLens, or buying a license, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and EULA.

1. What SpendLens is

SpendLens is a local, on-device tool that reads bank statement files you already have and turns them into private spending insights, categories, and exports. It runs on your Mac and stores data locally.

2. Not financial, tax, or legal advice

SpendLens is analytics and record-keeping software, not a financial, tax, accounting, or legal adviser. Insights such as “possible savings opportunity” or “unusual compared with your history” are informational only.

• Figures are derived from the files you import and may contain parsing or categorisation errors. You are responsible for verifying them.
• The Accountant / Tax Export prepares supporting records only. It is not a filed tax return. You or your accountant remain responsible for filing official VAT, Corporate Tax, or other returns with the relevant authority (e.g. the UAE FTA).
• Nothing in the app should be read as a recommendation to buy, sell, invest, or that you “can afford” anything.

3. Plans, billing & Merchant of Record

• One-time purchase: you buy a major version of SpendLens and own a perpetual license to its local features.
• Payments are processed by Polar as Merchant of Record. Polar is the seller of record, handles tax, and issues your receipt and license key. Your purchase is also subject to Polar’s buyer terms.
• New major versions may require a new purchase.

4. Refunds

Refund requests are handled through Polar. Contact info@stevinator.com and we’ll help. Statutory consumer rights (e.g., EU/UK cooling-off) are unaffected.

5. Licenses & devices

A license activates on a limited number of Macs you own or control. Don’t share license keys. We may revoke licenses obtained fraudulently or via chargeback.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t: break the law, infringe others’ rights, or reverse-engineer the app except as permitted by law.

7. Your data

Your statements and all data derived from them stay on your Mac. You are responsible for backing up and securing your device. We have no access to this data and cannot recover it for you.

8. Availability & changes

Features may change, and major versions may require a new purchase. We may modify or discontinue features and will give reasonable notice of material changes.

9. Disclaimers & liability

The app is provided “as is” without warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.
